WELFARE SERVICES FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITY BY DEPTT. OF SOCIAL WELFARE
The Department of Social Welfare is the Nodal Department for the welfare of persons with disabilities. It deals with implementation of Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995. Various schemes and programmes are being run for the well being of persons with disabilities. The department runs following homes/institution for persons with disabilities.

GENERAL DISABILITY CAMPS
- The Deptt. organizes General Disability Camps under National Programme for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (NPRPD) from time to time in various Districts of Delhi wherein facilities like disability certificates, DTC bus passes, distribution of Financial Assistance Scheme forms, registration of disabled children in govt. schools etc. are provided to the disabled persons at one focal point.
REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE UNDER SECTION 52 OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES ACT, 1995
- In order to facilitate the NGOs working in the disability sector, registration is done under section 52 of PwD Act. The Deptt. has advertised from time to time in leading newspapers regarding NGOs/institutions working for the welfare of PwDs to get registered under this PwD Act.
ISSUANCE OF NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATES
- Department issue no Objection Certificate to the NGOs to run Rehabilitation Council of India approved courses in special education for the period of one year or as per the duration of course approved by RCI.
